Voice commands

Enable the mic in the calculator, then use these commands. Say coordinate values as digits or words, including decimals.

Recommended callout

Say Target grid, then give 96 point 66, then 109 point 11. A short pause between each value improves Chrome recognition.

You can also use one full command: Target grid X-ray 96 point 66 Yankee 109 point 11.

Set mortar

Mortar grid

Activates the mortar position and clears its X and Y values for new coordinates.

Set target

Target grid

Activates the target position and clears its X and Y values for a new firing solution.

Coordinate order

96 point 66

With a grid active, the first plain number fills X. The second fills Y.

Name an axis

X-ray 96 point 66Yankee 109 point 11

Sets either coordinate directly. Use this to adjust one value after both are set.

Correct a grid

Correction

Clears the active grid and starts its X/Y entry again.

Read distance

RepeatRead back

Repeats the latest calculated distance in meters.

Stop entry

Stand down

Leaves voice mode on but exits the active coordinate entry sequence.

Decimals

96.66Ninety six point six six

Both styles are accepted. For the most reliable result, say “point” between the whole number and decimals.

Microphone selection

The calculator lists and tests microphones after you enable the mic. Chrome’s built-in Web Speech recognition listens to your browser or system default input, so make the desired device your default microphone if Chrome does not switch to it automatically.
